Known as the McArthur house, it was built by Dr. David Rosser. The home was to be his wedding gift to his fiancé, Mary Eliza Neal. Dr. Rosser was killed during the Chisholm Massacre before his wedding. The family of Dr. Rosser sold the house to the McArthur family. The house burned in 1997.

The Perkins place was built by Wilson and Sally Darnell Perkins. It is owned by Mrs. Beatrice Perkins Koostra and her husband Richard, who have fully restored it. Located on the Murphy-Hardy Road in west Kemper County, it is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
Dortha Hutchinson Evans, wife of Robert S. Evans and grandmother of Mrs. Loraine Davis. Mrs. Evans is, according to family history, a cousin of Andrew Jackson, whose mother was Elizabeth Hutchinson.
