Creekmore, Robert

Submitted by Paul L. Kines

Robert Creekmore's death was between 1850 and 1870, the Creekmore's of Kemper Co MS were missed in the 1860 census. Vera Mae Creekmore Bledsoe Dearman, granddaughter of James Monroe Creekmore, had a stroke and could not write. She had her daughter Daphne Foster write me a letter. In her letter dated 8/8/1987 "stated Robert Creekmore furnished four boys uniforms, guns, horses, everything for cavalry for the civil war. "This shows he was alive in 1861 and 5/22/1863. S. A. J. Creekmore wrote in his diary that he gave $50.00 to Sergeant Spencer (Jeff Davis Legion Co C) to send to S. M. Germany, his grandfather. This shows Robert Creekmore had died by 1863. So he must have died between 1862 and 1863.

I am a great-grandson of James Monroe Creekmore.
